GET CONNECTED!

Ps. Mike Constantine

8 QUALITIES to Develope GOOD Strong Relation about Ourselves

1) This creates the base of unity.

How do you feel when people reject you, without even knowing the REAL you?

We must make an effort to connect with the new ones and the young people that are coming up from the next generation to join this youth group. Especially the older ones, dont let them feel or be left out.

Some of us are very hard to connect to.This is because before stepping in to a new place or situations, you tell yourself "They will not like me.They will not like me" And this thought keeps playing in your mind until it got grip of your life and mind.

Instead of assuming they will not like you or you cant do it, ask yourself "How can I be like them?(good company and not bad company k?)

Do not anticipate rejection!
FLUSH the thought of "nobody gonna like me!" break out of the shell. if u need a hammer ask God for the "holy hammer" lol (the "strength")

DONT BELIEVE IN RUMOURS,
RUMOURS are often alway NEGATIVE
DONT PASS RUMOURS around.

When a rumour reach to u, YOU make a difference! STOP whenever it reaches u! I believe you and I can do it!

What if... YOU ARE the OBJECT of the rumour?

Whenever you want to START or PASS any rumour ask yourself that question.

"In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.(Matthew 7:12)"

Believe the best in people around you.Live up for the best.

When you believe the best in everyone. They will believe in themselves and believe in what you believe in. :)

I love the song he sang, i like the most was this sentence that goes something like nothing else matters as long as you love Christ or something like tht.

This is important especially in our speech and during communications.
"When you're talking at each other, you're not talking with each other."
Keep in mind that when you are talking to that particular person, its not about getting or hammering at each other is understanding its all about "LISTENING".

IF you are ever caught in a situation where both of you are trying to get what you believe or have in mind across to each other, stop and listen to what he/she has to say. Then take a step at a time to try to understand. Ask God for wisdom. LOL. I'm serious. It'll really help. You see, praying in tongues can prevent you from firing up at your fren :) try it... if it comes true Praise God! but if it dint then u need a "SELF EVALUATION TIME!"

definition of prejudice
1) opinions formed beforehand
-a preformed opinion, usually an unfavorable one, based on insufficient knowledge, irrational feelings, or inaccurate stereotypes

2) the holding of ill-informed opinions
-the holding of opinions that are formed beforehand on the basis of insufficient knowledge

3) irritational dislike of somebody
-an unfounded hatred, fear, or mistrust of a person or group, especially one of a particular religion, ethnicity, nationality, or social status

4) disadvantage or harm
-law disadvantage or harm caused to somebody or something

He is concentrating more on numbers 1,2 and 3.
Its really true that most of us are quick in giving negative judgements.

There are also such thing as "age prejudice"
"The older generations can be disrespectful of the younger generations."(C.S Lewis)
We need to update ourselves with the current things that are happening, the changes in the younger generations. But be remindful that we are in the world but not of the world.

The music our generations are playing is loud. Some of our parents discourage us to play and all. You will think that your parents do not understand or get irritated and brought down by their words. There is one fren of mine, she advised to pray and fast about it. "Prayer moves the hands of God." No matter how hard your parents' shell can be but nothing is too hard nor too impossible for our Almighty God!

When we grow old, we too gotta update ourselves. AS time pass things will be different, no doubt! You will one day be in your parents shoes! ;)

"God I dont want this in my life because it will destroy...."

Dont entertain those things. Dont build on it. Get rid of it.

You cannot force people that are shy or quiet to open up.
And NOBODY can force YOU to open up.

Instead you can be inviting and encouraging them. To show that you can be trusted.

When someone trust u and tells u of their secrets, do not betray their trust. You do not want the same happening to you too rgt? So dont entertain the thought of blurting it out.

Relationship works when there is forgiveness.

God forgives us when we did not live the way we are suppose to live. And of course you need to repent.

God forgave us when He send His ONE AND ONLY son, Jesus to the cross to shed His blood that our sins are cleansed.

Then why do we have the rights to not forgive the little, little things. If it was BIG, then how big was it for ONE person to sacrifice His life on the cross for sinners like you and me? Even there is only ONE person in this world, Christ will still sacrifice on the cross for U! To reserve a place for you in heaven!

Be MERCIFUL to each other.
- Give each other a break.
- Do not treat each other and keep account.
- Everyone needs mercy(space)
- All of us are in process of being molded by God.

We are all called to be submissive to our leaders.

What is humility?
that person is

1) Teachable.
We need to listen to advice from the wise. We're all learning together.

The danger
too proud to listen to their teachers (can be anyone that is trying to teach u or advice u)

pride always perceive rebellion,
rebellion always perceive preceptions,
preceptions always perceive destructions.

Proverbs.
-> person rejects teaching will wake up to say "if only" he listen to the teachers' teaching at the end of the day.

We humans are always like that. We tend to regret for not listening. We just need to experience it and suffer to wake us up.

Yet for some of us, we are still repeating the same thing over and over again.
Take your stand. Stand firm. Learn the "NO" power. Its always hard to do the right thing but focus on the result of doing the right thing. You'll not be robed by your sins!

2) Reasonable
Dont always have it your way.
We must be flexible
When we are reasonable, it makes us flexible in adapting to situations.

Now you know how to get connected. So now its time for you to put into practice all that you have read and learnt.

Time to ponder :
[A] Do you find that you're not accepting each other?
[B] Are you believing the best or believing rumours?
[C] Are you trying to understand people around you?
[D] Are there any person that you are prejudice of?
[E] Are you the kind of person that stays in your shell?
[F] Will you completely reject those that had hurt you or irritate you?
[G] Are you being graceful and merciful to your parents and leaders?
[H] Are you humbling yourself. And to be teachable and reasonable?

May Our Good Lord Bless you and keep you always!
Jesus loves you and i!

APYAC 2007- SPEAK TO THE NATION

The feeling of coming back to Malaysia, Tanah Airku never meant so much until last Monday(25th June) when I came back from Jakarta, Indonesia after the APYAC 2007.....Not much traffic, clearer air....So thankful for my country...

The conference was awesome, standing in the midst of thousands of young people from Indonesia and the rest of the Asia Pacific countries, worshipping together as one voice, united as one nation - the feeling is just unexplainable.... "Speak to the Nation", speak hope, peace, joy, healing, freedom, love and salvation...I was really inspired by the messages preached and the praise and worship was power-packed...Indeed God spoke to me in various ways....Overall, I'm truly blessed...

Being the International delegate is such an honor...People escorting us around to ensure our safety, comfort but above all else, it is their kindness and sacrifices which touches my heart... They came early in the morning to our hotel to take us to the stadium and also being the last to go back after we reached the hotel at night....Lord, please bless them back in return...I’ve also met new friends, one of them is Siu Li. She was the one who took care of us throughout our stay in Jakarta...

We left in the morning and only come back at night for the 3 days of conference...it was indeed very tiring yet satisfying...Journey from hotel to stadium took us an hour which actually only takes 15 minutes of drive because the traffic is really BAD....You could say it’s a jam for 24 hours, vehicles honking everywhere...I don't think anyone of us can drive there because it is so crowded with mini buses, BIG buses, cars, "bajai", motorcycles, bicycles, humans....oh ya...not to forget, Toyota Vios is actually their TAXI...so insulting man....haih...

Shopping is good over there....first of all, our exchange rate is much higher than theirs...Rp 100,000 is RM 40. So cool...was having a hard time converting and paying because there is so many digits and zeros....haha...

Wasn't feeling well on the last day.. I was down with fever and flu...but gotta pull it through because my shopping wasn't done yet...went to this place call "Manga Dua", which is something like Petaling Street over here but situated in a complex....cheap stuff..but crowded with people... Thank God I managed to survive...God's favour is really upon me... I wasn’t suppose to have the permission to join this conference, but however it is He made the way...I'm so blessed...Thank you Lord....

Youth Alive! 8th Anniversary

Speaker : Ps. Gideon Lee

Jonah 1

vs 2
1) Jonah suppose to pronounce judgement and its not an easy thing okay... ;P

vs 3
2) Jonah instead of doing what is asked of the Lord, he ran away from God.
{its pretty funny huh? God is God you know..how can u run away from Him? He IS everywhere and practically can just spot us coz He is very big! and we're like kuchi rat to Him. Alright alright now,dun laugh we SOMETIMES do run away from Him though we know of all the above. Am I right or what,say it say it! I AM RIGHT}

"...He found a ship, went abroad and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord"

vs 4
Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.

vs 5
All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god.(a)

Their gods never answered, they panicked and threw away the cargo to lighten the ship.

Guess what Jonah was doing...
He was in the ship deck sleeping! With the storm and all, he is fast alseep not a NAP! A DEEP SLEEP!
peribahasa : _________________ (fill in the blanks) XD

link :
Remember Jesus was also asleep during a storm in a boat with His disciples?
(Many parable in Jonah refers to Jesus) read on..

vs 6
The captain went to him and said, "How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us, and we will not perish."

vs 7-17
then they cast lots to see who was responsible for the calamity. It FELL on Jonah! Then Jonah admitted to them that he was running away from his God. "The Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and land." This terrified them.

"What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?"

"Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he(Jonah) replied "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you."

- they tried to row back to the land but failed. -

Then they cried to the Lord, "O Lord, please do not let us die for taking this man's life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, O Lord have done as you pleased."

- they threw Jonah into the sea -

hmm... imagine you are in Jonah's situation right now. Down you go to the sea (if it was dark even WORST). There are all kind of things below you and the wave keep coming to you and and you gotta rub your eyes and kick kick kick and and and... suddenly..a WHALE (or something big that can fit u in) you wouldnt realise at first because when the whale swallows you, the sea water goes with you then after a few second only you realise where u were.. (do you think u will still be alive?) i wonder...

now now come back to reality... XD

The Lord was gracious, He sent a BIG FISH to swallow Jonah and he was inside the fish for 3 days and 3 nights
(who wants to have a "holiday" like Jonah? ITS FREE!)

3 days 3 nights- familiar?
Jesus died and was rose after 3 days.

Every line in the book of Jonah tells us something about Jesus.

Jonah 2:10
-Jonah prayed and the Lord heard him. Then the fish vomitted Jonah out.

1) In the worst time, God can use us.

Jonah 3
1) God is the God of 2nd CHANCE (we know that He is a God of MANY CHANCE NOT JUST TWO!)
-> but DON'T take Him for granted.

The second time the message came to Jonah, he obeyed.

2) Jonah's sermon:
-death
-destruction
-doomed

3) Baded on simple msg and God's annointing, the people repent.
4) God is also a God of COMPASSION ;)

Jonah 4
1) Jonah was angry.
- Jonah did not have the right to say the people of Nineveh does not DESERVE a to be saved nor they deserve God's Love

Msg to us :
1) Everyone of us DESERVE to be saved.
Often times we do not think of our enemy and that they do not deserve God's love neither they should be saved. But this is wrong. Instead we should pray for them. NOT pray "God you are a justice God, punish them." NO NO NO...

Pray
"Lord bless name, teach me to love him/her and Lord I pray that one day he/she will come to know you and that 1 will be able to share Your love and joy that have been poured down upon my life." (amen) Yea thats it!

oh, there is another one.. hehehe

Say this prayer EVERY morning when you wake up!
"God whether I get anything else done today, I want to make sure that I spend time loving You and loving other people because that is what life is all about and its Your ultimate commamdment.I dont want to waste this day!" AMEN.

2) Know that if u turn away, God will still give you chances. BUT use it wisely, you may never know when you gonna leave earth.

3) God IS a compassionate God.
