It's this Saturday, peeps!! (which is, 2 days after tomorrow!)
Here's just a few things u'd have to know before u run the race.....

Rules and Regulations.

• Please do not sabotage another team. Any saboteurs caught will result in unquestioned disqualification.
• Any bad injuries will result in instant disqualification. Please take care. For emergencies, contact Ian Teh, Steph Tan, or our first aider, Samson Yap.
• Read the clues carefully and follow it's directions. Any form of cheat will result in unquestioned disqualification (this includes calling taxi, friends or family to pick u, or using alternate transportation method other than the suggested ones.)
• The eldest in the team remains the babysitter for the entire race. Any decisions made regarding safety should be followed.
• If u think you're lost, contact any of the committee. Any calls with inappropriate questions will b disqualified INSTANTLY.
• We wont be responsible for any lost items during the race.

Please be at church by 8a.m for registration. Briefing will start at 8.30a.m and the race will start at 9p.m regardless of late comers. The team will only be allowed to begin once all members has arrived and registered.

Please include these items as you'll need them during the race.

• extra pair of clothes.
• slippers
• umbrella
• 1dictionary per team
• torchlight
• towel
• drinking water

F-A-Bulous rite??? lol to maself! If u weren't with us today or u missed out on a few points or u're just better at reading than listening well, I have here bits and pieces on what we've heard from Pastor Gideon today! Before that, here's also a little recap on the sermon last week.

Being spiritually mature. How? - Pst Gideon Lee (18.4.10)Galatians 6:1-10

1Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5for each one should carry his own load.
6Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

The verses bolded in blue are the 3 criterias of being a spiritually matured christian. And so, when u are/ become spiritually matured, first thing u'd have to do is help those in the household of believers.

Fruits of the spirit- Pastor Gideon ( 25.4.10)

Galatians 5:16

16So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Fruits of the flesh and fruits of the spirit as verse 17 says, are totally opposite and always in conflict with each other.

What are the fruits of the flesh? ( VERSE 19-21)

Those who are of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What are the fruits of the spirit? (VERSE 22-23)

• LOVE = unconditional love. The same kind of love Christ had for us.He loved us while we were yet sinners. He died for us. This was the kind of love Paul meant for us to have.
• JOY = a good and strong feeling which comes from the inside and doesn't change no matter what the circumstances are. It isn't the same as happiness as happiness comes and goes according to our circumstances but joy is everlasting and eternal.
• PEACE of God = harmony in all your relationships. problem free with everyone and the ability not to fear in all situations for faith and peace works together.
• PATIENCE = not easily provoked when being tested or tried. cool.
• KINDNESS = doing good deeds for others without expecting anything in return.
• GOODNESS = the same goodness that we mean when we declare 'God is good!'' for God is generous. So, do not be stingy with all that u have; your time, talent, money, energy, love.
• FAITHFULNESS = TRUSTWORTHY. loyalty. Now, are u faithful to God?
• GENTLENESS = HUMILITY. NOT false humility or modesty. One that comes from your reverence to God for all glory is HIS.
• SELF-CONTROL = victory over sin!! Flesh will always want to do and tempt us to lose and fall so this is a MUST HAVE!

All together God gave us 9 fruits of the spirit. Why call it fruits? Why not gifts or characters? - because, each fruits are seperate yet they are a bunch. It cannot do without one another. And just like a fruit tree, these fruits takes and needs time to grow. It just doesn't happen overnight. But, it needs to be cultivated, watered, and fertilized as it grows for it to be fruitFULL. So, do not rush but do what u must for your spiritual fruit tree to grow. These fruits are your evidence that u are a Christian just as a fruit is evidence for the kind of tree it is.

So, how many fruits can u present to the Lord?

We're coming to the end of February already. Oh wow, twenty-ten passed by so swiftly cross our eyes! It feels like only yesterday when Christmas ended. Despite how that feels, still so much had occured in this 2 months. God's just amazing! Amen?



okay, and life goes on..haha. Lets look to the future!

• CEll GrOuPs this Saturday (27 Feb) at 3-5p.m.

Cell Out! and Forte will be joining forces that day which mean= DOUBLE THE PEOPLE, FOOD, AND FUN!

• Concurrent Service this Sunday at 10.20-12.30. We always have something different and exciting for u every week. So come and have a great time worshipping and hearing God's word together! By the way, Pastor Gideon wont be with us as he's a speaker for a camp in PD so let's keep him in prayer, aights? ehhemm, this mean we'll have someone else sharing!! It's a secret, so come and find out!


• To all musicians out there, there will be a Musicians meeting next Saturday from 2-4pm at the MPH 2 hall. So keep that day freeeeeeee!


• MUSIC!!! Who doesn't love music? It's part of everyone's life. But do u know what's the base or the best part of a song?? THE BASS GUITAR!

Yupp. It's a cool instument and guess what? We have the oh-so-cool Ms. SuAnn to give us free classes on it! It'll be held every Saturday from 12-1pm starting 6th of March. Sign up with SuAnn ASAP! So, come and lets 'jeng' together!

• Mission trips to Sarawak has always been a highlight and something to look forward by many at the end of year in the month of November and December. It’s always a time where new minds are changed and souls being saved.If you are one of them and always have the desire to sow seeds out of this city we encourage you to see Ian Teh..TODAY!

Things don't look too good for HueiLin's mom. HL has requested that she doesn't want any visitors for the time being. Do understand. Pls continue to pray.

Lord, we need a miracle today, now. This instant, Lord. Have mercy.
In Jesus name, amen.

UPDATES:
Drs are gonna run a few test on HL's mom today. Let's pray for positive results and continuous healing alright? And for her family too.

HL's mom is still in coma & under machines to help her bp & breath.

Pls continue to pray for HueiLin's mom. Drs are taking off meds today for further monitoring


UPDATES: Dr isn't very optimistic on HueiLin's mom. they cut off the meds today at 6am and 
said her mum won't wake up so soon and that very high chances she will go into a vegetative state.
Pls pray for a miracle.

DAY 4 ( 10/2/2010 )
Pls continue to pray for healing upon HueiLin's mom as she has developed a fever according to HL's bro.
Don't stop praying guys!

DAY 5 ( 11/2/2010 )
Fever has went down but Dr said she got Pneunomia ystdy, so they're giving her antibiotics.
Pls continue to remember HueiLin's mom in your prayers!


UPDATES: HL's mom is weaker compared to ystdy, and she is not responding to pain the last time Dr checked. Please please continue to pray

Dear youths,
Please keep Huei Lin(Lisa Lee) and her family in prayer. Her mum has got into an accident and is currently placed under intensive care and monitoring.

Pray for:
-God's peace to reign over their family
-God's strength and grace to face everyday
-speedy recovery for her mum (good response to the treatment)
-salvation to the other family members

She'll need to retire restfully for the week.
